AAA Gas Grant

Objective:

To provide Norwood students with the opportunity to apply for a $100.00 gas card to help defray the rising cost of gas and help with their financial burden.

Criteria for awarding the AAA Gas Gift Card:

Active students who meet the criteria listed below and are currently experiencing commuting, carpooling, and transportation issues will be able to apply for the AAA Gas Grant. The students will need to submit an application and write an essay of no more than 50 words to apply for a $100 gas gift card. The active student needs to submit an essay answering the following question: What are the steps I have taken to help resolve my commuting, carpooling, and transportation issues at Universal Technical Institute? The essay will need to tell what their issues are, name of the departments at the Norwood Campus that they have spoken with. The student will turn the essay in to the Director of Student Services and he/she will then have the essay reviewed and judged by the AAA Gas Grant Committee. The AAA Gas Grant Committee will meet once a week to determine the winners of the AAA Gas Grant.

Availability:

The grant will be available to all students who are experiencing commuting, carpooling, and transportation issues as long as there are funds available to distribute. This AAA Gas Grant will be available to students meeting the difficulties that are in the above criteria beginning on June 1, 2008.

Process:

The process and procedure for applying for this AAA Gas Grant will be announced to all students to commence on June 1, 2008.

Students will apply for this AAA Gas Grant by submitting their completed application and essay to the Gas Grant Committee via Director of Student Services in the Student Services Department. Once the application has been reviewed by the committee the student will be notified by the Committee, if they will receive a $100 Gas Card.

*This program is subject to modification or cessation at the school’s discretion. You are limited to applying for the AAA Gas Grant to only once. The AAA Gas Grant is provided through the support of AAA of Southern New England and the Universal Technical Institute Foundation.
